A new acrobat has joined the circus, and I am NOT happy. She is tiny, so she can fly higher than the other acrobats and sail further through the air. She has quickly become the star of the aerial show. I don’t like ANYONE taking attention away from me! I find the little acrobat stretching before her set and immediately begin verbally assaulting her. Being small is NOT a perk. It means she’s inferior, less than, a nothing. I humiliate her for being so petite. Its like she’s a little action figure version of a real person. I tell her being so minuscule makes her pretty useless to the circus… after all, who will buy tickets to a show where they can’t even SEE one of the performers?! I quickly her confidence, and hopefully, my competition.
